What are PFAS Compounds?
Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS), “forever chemicals” are a group of man-made synthetic chemicals characterized by almost indestructible carbon - fluorine bonds that have been used in consumer products around the world for decades. Because the carbon-fluorine bond is one of the strongest bonds, these chemicals do not degrade easily in the environment and have posed serious environmental and health concerns.
